We're Aliiiiiiiive!

Phew! Well, that was a whirlwind.

The last ten days has been filled with the following things:
  • Flights. Ugh. Way too many. If I don't see another aircraft safety demonstration in a long while, it will be too soon.
  • Walking a cat through an airport on a leash. Yes, there are pictures. No, we didn't remember to bring our camera cords in our luggage, so I can't put them up here just yet. Yes, they are worth the wait.
  • Moving into our new apartment. It's lovely!
  • Sending Kevin away to cat camp. AKA boarding at the Madrid vet's place. I was sad to see him go so soon after his rough series of flights and finally kicking the sedatives, but Adam has consoled me with tales of Kevin's new pen pals and camp girlfriend. They promise they'll write.
  • HONEYMOON! The Canary Islands are lovely this time of year. There was sea kayaking, champagne, and a trip to the spa. There are also tans. And melted-away stress.
  • Cultural adjustments. Both good and bad. Good: really delicious gazpacho comes in cartons with spouts, like you'd buy Tropicana back home. Bad: everything shuts down on Sunday (oh, Catholicism, you cad!). Good: half a block from our place, we can get a glass of wine, a small draft beer, and a small plate of tapas for €2,90, which is a little over 4 bucks. Bad: restaurants really aren't open in the evenings until like 8pm. Good: HAM. Amiright?!

Anyway. We're still working it all out. But, at least we've got gazpacho, and ham, and cheap wine to help see us through.
