So. The only silver lining (ONLY!!) to Adam being gone is major. Because Adam is serving a crappy, crappy (and potentially dangerous, and just generally undesirable) first assignment, we got our absolute first choice from a list of hundreds of world cities.
It's official. We're moving to Madrid!
Well... not for a while, at least. First Adam's finishing his Saudi Arabia assignment, and then he's coming home (yay!), and then we're getting married (double yay!), and then he'll study Spanish (olé!), and then we're moving to Spain. But still -- SO happy about this because it gives me something to look forward to; something to get excited about.
However, we had been planning on meeting in Morocco this winter for a shared vacation/reunion, but now that we'll be living in Spain for two years, and Morocco's just a ferry ride away, we decided to shift our destination to something a bit farther flung. We briefly toyed with eastern Europe... but then remembered that it will be January, and my personal goal (aside from seeing Adam, obviously) is to get OUT of the cold.
That's when we landed on our current choice. Tune in next week and I'll sing its praises!
